What we collect

Vegetive asks for no account, no sign-up and no email address. We keep no user database. The ingredient checkboxes stay in your browser and never reach us. The one thing the site does record is the rating you may choose to give a recipe, described below.

If you write to hello@vegetive.com, we keep your message and address for as long as it takes to reply.

Audience measurement

We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and where visitors come from. In the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, its cookies are only set with your agreement; without that agreement, Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals. Google processes this data and we only see totals.

The site also keeps its own page-view counter. It records the page address, the language and the site you came from, with no cookie, no IP address and no identifier that lasts longer than a day.

Advertising and cookies

This site shows adverts through Google AdSense. Google and its partners place cookies on your device and use your IP address to serve adverts, measure them and prevent fraud. Google processes that data, not us, and we cannot see it at the individual level.

You can turn off advert personalisation atGoogle My Ad Center, or refuse these cookies in your browser settings. The site works either way.

Recipe ratings

You can give a recipe a star rating. We record the rating itself and never your identity: the server keeps only a running total and a vote count per recipe. To stop one person voting a hundred times, it holds a hashed fingerprint of your IP address for a few seconds, from which the original address cannot be recovered. Your browser separately remembers which recipes you have rated so it does not ask again; that information never reaches us.

Hosting

Hostinger hosts this site. Like any web server, it records incoming requests, including your IP address, in technical logs used for security and fault diagnosis.

External content

Typefaces and recipe photos are served from our own server.

Your rights

If you live in the European Union, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct and erase data about you. Since we hold no accounts, the only data we might have is an email you sent us. Write to hello@vegetive.com to ask for it to be deleted.
